Summer 2022 ACUE Opportunity

To support faculty in implementing practical strategies that draw on students’ motivations and foster engagement, this summer CETAL will support up to 25 people to participate in a six-week, online asynchronous course offered by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). ACUE’s courses provide instruction on evidence-based teaching strategies, offer practical tools for implementing ideas, and include purposeful opportunities to reflect on your teaching.

Course Details: Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing lifelong Learners

Summer 2022, CETAL will fund up to 25 participants to take the ACUE course Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners. This six-week, online asynchronous course runs from June 6, 2022 through July 18, 2022. While the course is asynchronous, each module has defined deadlines for completion.

Course competencies include

  • Motivating Your Students

  • Providing Clear Directions and Explanations

  • Using Concept Maps and Other Visualization Tools

  • Using Student Achievement and Feedback to Improve Your Teaching

  • Using Advanced Questioning Techniques

  • Developing Self-Directed Learners

Course rosters are dependent on ACUE’s enrollment, so while it is likely that ECC participants will be in a section with other ECC employees, it is not guaranteed. Per ACUE, each module typically takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete.

Support Provided by CETAL

  • Course tuition paid for, for up to 25 ECC participants

  • Structured opportunities during the summer to connect with other ECC participants to share lessons learned and ideas

Faculty participants who complete the course will receive 16 CETL Workshop Clock Hours towards lane movement.
