June 23, 2026 Teaching Retreat: Assignment Alchemy Registration
At Assignment Alchemy, faculty will bring an assignment they choose to work on and revise and fine tune the assignment based on guided activities, peer feedback sessions, and dedicated time to think in a community of colleagues.
The objectives of the 2026 CETAL Teaching Retreat, focused on assignment design, are for participants to
Receive constructive feedback on a drafted assignment (at any stage of the design process from new idea to tried and tested assignment) and provide targeted feedback to colleagues.
Ensure the assignment meets the participant’s intentions in regards to alignment with intended learning outcomes, appropriate course and professional context, and grading and feedback mechanism.
Apply elements of the Transparency Framework to an assignment to make the assignment’s purpose and relevance explicit to students.
