Lane movement, as stipulated by the ECCFA contract and described in the Faculty Development Handbook, is the process by which faculty advance in salary level, based on credentials and acquired lane movement credits. Many of CETAL's programs are automatically pre-approved for lane movement. As defined in the Faculty Development Handbook, the number of CETAL Workshop Credits to be applied towards lane movement from CETAL is equal to the number of CETAL workshop clock hours divided by 24. For instance, a single two-hour CETAL workshop would equal 2/24 CETAL Workshop Credits to be applied toward lane movement. For more information, consult the Faculty Development Handbook.

The Activity Type column will list what activities award CETAL lane movement credit with the designation “Teaching & Learning (CETAL): Lane Credit,” and the Duration column includes the number of workshop clock hours for that activity.
The Online Observation form is located as Appendix A4 in the Faculty Evaluation Handbook.
Faculty have the ability to open up their own course to their evaluators for observation purposes rather than contacting the Distance Learning office. In this way, faculty can establish the duration of access directly in accordance with the duration agreed upon with their evaluator.
